how to make a jar of curry sauce taste nice??

Am being lazy and resorting to one of those in the jar curry sauces, is supposed to be Madras. I find they all taste the same - any ideas how i can jazz it up a bit???

put in chilli, fish sauce if you have it, or soy, or something salty, cumin, lemon....oh shit, just noticed weegle's post....waht she said

if you must buy jars (and I do) the Lloyd Grossman are the best of the bunch

doing pilau rice to go with it makes it look like you;ve made an effort too
