If anyone has any tried and tested sweet treats - cakes biscuits anything I would appreciate it!

Said I'd bring in something for my son's last day at kindergarten and slightly underestimated the allergy situation 🙈

Rice Crispie cakes?

Banana flapjacks

Grease a 6 x 8 tin or dish with coconut oil.
Preheat oven to150C fan.
Mash 4 bananas.
Melt 3 tbsp coconut oil in a pan.
Mix in bananas and 225g gluten free oats.
Add whichever extras you like- dried fruit, vegan chocolate chips.
If you want extra sweetness add some golden syrup, or substitute a dab of coconut condensed milk for the bananas.
Turn mixture into dish and press down.
Bake for 40mins or until golden.
Leave to cool then cut into slices.
Slices can be partially dipped in melted chocolate, or you can drizzle some on before slicing.

A can of coconut condensed milk not a dab!

The flapjacks sound great, thank you. Think I'll do a trial run today!
Crispie cakes are a good thought too:)

You can do crispy cakes with toffee and melted (vegaletarian) marshmallows instead of chocolate - they are amazing!

Roobear23 · 12/10/2019 12:07

@FusionChef you can get vegan toffee?? I will definitely try this!

Boil a can of coconut condensed together with some golden syrup for toffee, in case you can’t get a soy free vegan toffee.

And watch out for soya/nuts in chocolate too (or made in factory where nuts are used). Plamil So Free is vegan and nut free but made in soy using factory. Moo Free is vegan and soy free but made in factory that uses hazelnuts. Can’t think of any off the top of my head that are totally frees of traces of both soy and nuts, sorry.
