I don't like to ask, but what can I make for tea?

I have already made a chicken & veg noodle stir fry for lunch. Was going to have sandwiches tonight, no bread!
What can I make that isn't too heavy of similar to lunch?
We have in the cupboards - mash potato, spaghetti, rice, pasta, dry chickpeas & pearl barley. A few things in the fridge and freezer alas, no eggs! (shopping tomorrow)

any tuna, sweetcorn and pasta sauce or tins of tom soup? You could mix it all with cooked pasta and bake in the oven, preferably with cheese on top.

Pasta - with basic tomato sauce, pesto, olive oil and cheese, etc.

Any fish fingers? mash and beans with them goes down well in our house.

No tomatoes or soup I like making pasta bakes though, usually contain chicken or beef, mixed veg, 2 tins of tomatoes, herbs etc topped with cheese.
I do have fishy fingers in the freezer

pearl barley was intended to go in soups & stews. lentils ended up in the soups

Pearl barley is the best bit of stews!! However, since you have none of the other indgredients I think that is a bit academic for tonight.

OK bug what exactly is in the fridge/freezer? I think we are heading for either pasta bake or fish fingers and instant mash here!

erm off the top of my head......
freezer ~ chicken drumsticks (pita bone to pick round though), steak, white fish portions, fish fingers, pork pie sausages, mince I think, onion rings, peas, mixed veg.
fridge ~ cheese, milk, sliced ham, homous, spring onions, normal onions, milk.
Pretty poor.

pasta with ham and peas (and any other veg which come to hand - some fried onions would be nice) in a white sauce (any flour in that cupboard?) topped with cheese and baked. Sorted. If that is poor then I hate to think what would describe our fridge when I can't be bothered to shop

I'd do either fishfingers with mashed potato and peas

Or pasta with ham in a cheese sauce

burstingbug · 13/08/2007 17:28

Its poor when I need help to think of something
May just do fingers, mash & peas. onion rings too!
