Jamie’s make ahead gravy - stupid q

So the recipe for make ahead gravy says whack the chicken wings and veg in a roasting tray that goes on the hob after it comes out of the oven. Any reason I can’t use a large Le Creuset? Would make it far easier to pop it on the hob afterwards....

No idea but I always find it takes longer than the recipe says. Browning on the hob is how you get the colour in the gravy so unless you want pale gravy don't skimp here. You have made me feel all Christmassy

I always double any recipe time that calls for reducing Gravy is my nemesis so I am hoping to a win.

It's amazing. I miss out the star anise and celery and use leeks and mushrooms and it's still fan.

Gravy choices make brexit look like strictly come dancing. My DP was appalled to learn our family tradition of 'thin gravy' - basically hot water, marigold stock powder, a few herbs and that's it.

I can't have thick brown stuff and consider it an outrage.

I'm sorry @MorrisZapp but that's not gravy, that's a crime against humanity.

One thing I'm not sure of, is that I've got an induction hob, so my roasting dish won't work on it. For ordinary gravy, I scrape the meat juices and tasty bits into a saucepan when I'm ready to do the gravy. Will this work with Jamie's method?

I’ve done mine in a le crueset before and it’s been fine. I think it’s just any dish that can do both.
It is epic. But get your wings early, they sell out near Christmas!!

Thatmustbemyname I’m sure it will work, you might miss a few tasty bits but it should work ok.... what about investing in a good large pan that would do both? You’ll get loads of use out of it in the long run.

@SaveKevin I've tried 3 different ones, each one promises to work on induction but they never seem to be very good. It's never usually too much of an issue, but reading this method just made me pause and wonder if it'd work. Thanks for the response :)

Oh bugger. They are expensive to keep trying as well.
