We're doing 'birthday tea/dinnerr' for Nanny and Grampy, so DC need to cook.
Last year we did mini fish pies followed by Moroccan lamb with couscous etc. It went down well.
Dessert will be lemon curd meringue roulade followed by Birthday cake.
We need genius ideas for main and starter, at least some elements we can precook and take with us. So, fish starter and lamb main course. Ideas please?

Does it have to be a fish starter and lamb main course?

ODFOx · 25/09/2019 22:22

Nope. All ideas welcome! Thanks. Smile

Lamb kebabs, flat breads, some kind of yogurt dressing and salad? Can all be pre-prepped then cooked and assembled just before?

A starter of twice baked cheese Great for kids to help make as egg cracking and whisking, cheese grating, stirring etc.! Lots of different recipes on bbc good food. Simple cheddar ones great.
You do the first baking, then turn them out if ramekins and can freeze. On day of birthday, just defrost, put on a baking tray, sprinkle with more cheese and put back in oven for second baking. Really easy to then serve with simple green salad.
