Safe to eat?

I cooked a smoked gammon joint in the oven last night and was planning on using the leftovers for lunches or dinners for the next few days. I realised in the middle of the night that I hadn’t put it in the fridge (the benefit of my 3 month old waking up to feed!) so went and put it in. At this point it was about 8 hours since it came out of the oven, and it had been covered with a clean tea towel to stop flies getting to it.

This is fine to eat, right? I can be a bit over cautious when it comes to food!

Def fine

It fairly cold outside here now - unless you had the heating on full blast all night I’m sure it’s fine.

Regularly do this and use for sandwiches in the morning... with a bit of pickle, lovely.

Would have been dangerous to put in fridge much earlier as would have been warm and could have warmed up everything else in the fridge

Absolutely fine, enjoy!

Definitely fine. I've done a lot worse... :-(
