Salad dressings

I love a good salad :) and great for work lunches. However I just sprinkle some salt and pepper over them.
Any recommendations for nice salad dressings please, nothing too "heavy" or over powering. Home made or shop bought. Thank you.

This is my go to recipe for vinaigrette dressing. www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2010/may/13/making-perfect-vinaigrette.

Takes less than a minute to make. It also makes a sensible small amount. I make it in an old jar and store in the fridge for a week.

I always go for vinegars, either a good balsamic or a flavoured vinegar (currently hooked on a mango one).

@AtleastitsnotMomday ... go on... tell me more about how you’re using the flavored vinegars, please.

Mix balsamic and oil and season. So easy. Or honey, mustard and lemon juice, lovely with figs, mozzarella and Palma ham.

My house dressing is as follows:
1 tsp Maille Dijon mustard
Pinch of Maldon Smoked salt
Few grinds of black pepper
Good olive or rapeseed oil
White balsamic vinegar (or lemon or lime juice)
Place everything in a screw-top jar, shake well to emulsify, pour over salad and toss to coat.

Try Aldi's superb range of bottled dressings: herb and lime, soy, ginger and chilli, tomato and basil, honey and mustard, French etc... also do a mango and passion fruit to put with yoghurt and fruit... seriously rather nice.
