Slice or not slice cake before freezing?

I'm making our wedding cake and will be freezing in advance. I need to slice one of the cakes. Can I slice and level them before I freeze or will this make them dry out more?

The more of the surface area there is exposed, the more it is going to dry out so I wouldn't slice before freezing

Definitely don't slice before freezing.
