Coffee and walnut cake - how chunky do I want my nuts!?

I’m making coffee and walnut cake for a competition and don’t know whether to stir chopped walnut pieces, or to blitz them in a food processor first? Nigella and Jamie both blitz, everybody else says just finely chop. If you were a judge, which would you prefer?

Why not both? Fine whizzed up for the deep nutty flavour and some chopped for the chunks of nut?

Both definitely!

Chunky and way more than the recipe calls for !!!

dontgobaconmyheart · 06/08/2019 09:45

Oh I always do both, the textural variety is a winner for me. And like Flyingsouth says - always more than the recipe calls for!

Thanks for you opinions. Unfortunately my cake didn’t come first, second or third!
