I cooked chilli con carne last night
I used froen mince which I defrosted in the microwave then fried. I then added tinned toms, kidney beans and a chilli and spices and a little water.
I cooked it all up for aboput 20 mins and then served up what I wanted and left the rest in the pan with a lid on.
Can I blast it in the microwave and eat it now??

It has been cooked and left with the lid on for 24 and a half hours now

I know I sound totally loopy but completely paranoid about this kind of thing so I'm giving you all the info

if it hasdn't been in the fridge then no, I wouldn't eat it.
if it was refrigerated then yes, I would have no qualms about re-heating

Trinityrhino · 01/08/2007 20:31

Left in the pan out of the fridge all day?

Personally wouldn't eat it myself.

HuwEdwards · 01/08/2007 20:32

GreatGooglyMoogly · 01/08/2007 20:32

It would be fine if it had been in the fridge.

I did this with a Cottage pie, made it Sunday, left out with lid on, ate it Mon teatime having reheated in microwave. I'm still here and have had no ill effects

lulumama · 01/08/2007 20:37

i do this all the time too, with chilli or bolognese

Porpoise · 01/08/2007 20:37

As long as you heat it up to bubbling, Trinity, it will be fine.
Enjoy!

massivebigpantsface · 02/08/2007 13:18

did she??? didn't she???

Trinityrhino · 03/08/2007 08:09

I did, I heated it to 'melting steel' heat and then burnt my tongue, let it cool and ate the lot. It was scrummy

I'd eat it myself, but I wouldn't feed it to my kids.
