Marrow recipes please

So I've got several lots of chutney now. What else can i do with marrows. My family claim not to like them, so they have to be hidden in things.

We've got an impending marrow glut, so far I've made this with mozzarella on top which was very tasty but marrow wasn't hidden. Not sure marrow's very hide-able really, it's pretty conspicuous!

thanks kaefly - i've done that sort of thing before and it didnt go down well. i dont think they like the texture of marrow. hopefully someone will come up with some other options to solve both our marrow overloads

You can use it to make a cake sort of like carrot cake I believe.

cake it is i think.....i'm sure they will be happy. i wont tell them marrow is an ingredient till they've eaten it. i guess its similar idea to the courgette chocolate cake i do

I presume the marrow is peeled and grated, recipe says 'fold in marrow' which made me chuckle in a childish, Swedish chef kind of way

Diced up finely and sauteed down with carrots/onions/celery when making a basic tomato/veg based sauce. It disappears if you cook it long enough.

i've just done some hairy bikers mum knows best courgette fritters, and think i inadvertently used a small marrow thinking it was courgette. so i'm guessing they are probably more or less interchangeable? they were lovely with a fried egg and bacon on top

I like it grated, pasta drained over it and fried chorizo and its oil folded through.

Or baked in really strong cheese sauce like my Uncle Mo used to make...

I have lots of courgettes right now and several marrows (I think!) - at what point does a courgette become a marrow though?!

My favourite ever recipe is stuffed marrows.

Slice a large marrow into rings, scoop out innards and place the rings onto a foil lined baking tray.

Pan fry an onion, garlic and sausage meat until cooked through. Add 1 or 2 tins of chopped tomatoes depending on how big your marrow is (ooer!) Season to taste and let cook slightly. I sometimes stick in some sweet corn or spinach to up the veg intake.

Stuff the sausage mixture into the hollowed our marrow rings, top with grated cheddar.

Bake at 180 for around 45 mins or until the marrow is cooked through. I serve with a salad or garlic bread. So good!

I'd deseed for a start (cut in half lengthwise & use a spoon), then use in recipes that normally have aubergine.
Pre-roast lightly, then make a moussaka, or Imam Bayildi perhaps.

Roast with red peppers, tomatoes, onions and lots of garlic - blend to make a lovely sauce that can be frozen and then used in lots of pasta dishes

I cut in to rings about 2/3 inches thick skin and seed and fill with bolognese sauce top with cheese and bake for 30 / 45 mins until marrow is cooked through.

Marrows are awful . But my husband does like them in a soup
