Hi All
My oven is broken, it was due to be replaced today but the new one also got broken by the fitter 🤦‍♀️ so it looks like ive no oven/grill until next week.
I have a 2 year old, he loves fish fingers, quorn nuggets, roasted sweet pots etc.
Has anyone got ideas of what i can feed him over the weekend? Ive a toaster & functional gas hob. He doesnt like sandwiches ....
Thank you in advance

Are you friendly enough with any of your neighbours that you could ask to pop a tray of food in the oven as a one-off?

I would do it if you were my neighbour!

Good thinking! I have lovely neighbours i will ask them

you can do fish fingers in the microwave, and on the same thought sweve done the nuggets i nthere too. Line a microwavable plate with two layers of paper towels. Place one layer of frozen Quorn Nuggets on top. When cooking one serving (4 nuggets), heat on high for 2 minutes, turning halfway through.sometimes can help to give them a sprinkling of water.
im sure you could hob them too deffo the fish fingers.
does he like pizza could you do some mini pizzas on the hob?
soup.hoops.beans spaghettie hoops?
could you make a little sweet potato stew on the hob.
pasta salad.
carbanara.
toasties.
waffles.
rice dishes on the hob.

Pasta, curry, stirfry, you can cube up sweet potatoes and shallow fry, fry proper fish. At 2 they eat whatever you are eating surely???

Be thankful, I had to manage with just a microwave, rice cooker and griddle plate for nearly two months when our kitchen was fitted, we survived

Thanks everyone, yes he mostly eats what i eat but does prefer fish fingers!
Thanks for ideas & links, much appreciated

You can shallow fry fish fingers in a tiny bit of oil

Do you have a BBQ? put the wire rack bit on the BBQ and grill the fish fingers, it's sort of upside down for grilling so don't forget to turn them.
