beef in beer, add some stock and a jar of cranberry sauce. Lovely!

what kind of beer?

if dark stouty sort, use in beef casserole as you'd use red wine
if lager use to poach a ham as you would cider

carlsberg or similar.

Also have loads of red wine which i dont drink but will eventually get used up by guests.
