Nadiya Hussain - time to eat

Really enjoyed watching her new tv program, I want to make everything so far! It all looks straightforward and something my family would actually eat.

I’ve just made the paste for the noodle recipe she showed, going to make the peanut butter and jelly pancake mix later in the week with the kids.
Has anyone else tried her recipes?

I've not tried any from this series but her white chocolate and apple Rocky Road is amazing! The egg wraps on the last episode looked good too, might have them for lunch at the weekend

This grapefruit chicken stew is delicious (though maybe not in this heat!) it's from family favourite meals I think

Sorry, wrong thread Blush

I have really enjoyed these programmes. I thought I would get fed up of her but I think her ideas are great! Nice to see where the food comes from/is made as well. She has quite a nice way with her too. Loved the note about who cooks in the kitchen . I am guessing her husband is the one who doesn't!!!

Love "Time to Eat" on the tv - great series so far.

Nadiya's enthusiasm is infectious and she comes across as warm, humane and genuine.
I always find myself smiling when I'm watching this programme - Nadiya seems to take a real delight in her cooking and appears thrilled to be sharing it all with us.

Think I may have to treat myself to yet another recipe book...

Gottoloveabagel · 31/07/2019 20:13

Not tried them yet but liked the look of the egg rolls

FawnDrench · 06/08/2019 18:16

The recipe for trifle Nadiya presented this week is here if anyone's interested.

She did some lovely dishes this week as well.

notoafternoontea · 08/08/2019 10:39

Did you make the trifle? I thought it looked dreadful - well - not dreadful, but like a VERY sugary breakfast. It certainly wasn't trifle....it put me in mind of that Friends episode where Rachel attempts one.

I do want to do the chicken and broccoli thing. That looked yum.

SegregateMumBev · 08/08/2019 15:24

The beetroot pasta is amazing!

Genvonklinkerhoffen · 08/08/2019 15:29

I just bought the book this series is based on. Some fab ideas in there.

FawnDrench · 08/08/2019 20:50

@notoafternoontea I didn't do the trifle - as you say, it would have been far too sweet.
I enjoyed the visit to the factory and all the info about making the yogurt though!

I was a bit tempted by the cheesecake croissant thingies - but I must resist...however I think the grandchildren would like them so I might have a go at them one weekend.

notoafternoontea · 10/08/2019 17:58

I enjoyed that too!

So I made the peanut chicken traybake and it’s yum! (If I do say so myself!). I used a milder curry paste as the green Thai would have been a bit much for the five and the seven year old! Also, I made half the recipe which was ample for me, DH and the two girls. This one is going in the book for future use.

I'm trying the baked bean falafels!

Deathraystare · 15/08/2019 18:38

Segregate - that looked very interesting, especially the fact that it is baked and not loaded with oil!!

BertrandRussell · 15/08/2019 18:43

My ds has made the jar noodle things to take to work and the egg roll. She has loved them both.
I want to make the poke bowls probably will at the week end. I made the cod and clementine curry from another book though, and even my gannet dustbin DS wouldn’t r eat it. and I am practically certain I got it right......

Wolfcub · 15/08/2019 18:46

Love the programme and really fancied trying the peanut butter chicken. I love her natural enthusiasm and just normalcy

BoogieFeet · 15/08/2019 18:46

My son enjoyed making the beetroot pasta with me - using the blender was the selling point. It was a lovely meal, and made enough to freeze for another day Smile

HollowTalk · 15/08/2019 18:47

I love this programme, too. She makes it seem so easy.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 15/08/2019 18:49

I made the chicken shawarma - bloody delicious! Making that again! My whole family loved it.
I think Nadiya is fab.

BertrandRussell · 15/08/2019 18:50

I do think she’s pinching ideas a bit from Jack Monroe though.......

goose1964 · 15/08/2019 18:51

I spend the whole programme saying who on earth would want to eat that. It all seems high in sugar and/or fat. Mind you I don't have to cater for young children, and my boys always would eat anything and DD would only eat tiny portions of anything.

Gottoloveabagel · 15/08/2019 19:10

Our egg rolls weren't very successful, the egg didn't stick to the wrap, not sure where we went wrong?
