Dumbest question ever on Avocados

user1471523870 · 15/07/2019 16:32

I recently started using a Nutribullet and totally love it. I am experimenting a little now and would like to blend avocado in. But I think a whole avocado is too much. Can a half avocado survive well till the following morning? Would you put it in the fridge? Does it become very brown?

Leave the stone in, wrap in cling film immediately and refrigerate. Or if you're only going to blend it, peel, cut in chunks and freeze. Use straight from the freezer.

No. Just eat it. Or buy those small ones you get in a packet of four and use a whole one.

Absolutely! More than one night in fact.

Keep the stone in the half you're saving, wrap it in clingfilm and stick in the fridge. Even if it looks slightly brown where you've cut it, it will be fine to eat.

I know some people recommend putting lemon on it too but I never bother.

I used to have a specific avo saver... but I have no idea where it's disappeared too... more environmentally friendly than constant clingfilming!

Ahh brilliant, thanks!!! I don't even care about the brown bits per se as they get blended in and I won't see the color he he.

Some supermarkets sell frozen avocado chunks - at least I know Sainsburys and Tesco do - maybe an option?

Nothingsuitsmelikeasuit · 15/07/2019 18:50

Iceland sell frozen avocados too, I think it’s £2.50 for 8 halves.

Add lemon juice to stop it browning.
