Slow cooker beef joint

Musicalstatues · 20/06/2019 20:03

I’ve never cooked beef in the slow cooker before! Need to free up space in the oven for the rest of Sunday dinner so I am planning on doing the meat in the slow cooker.
Does anyone have a tried and tested slow cooker beef recipe they would care to share?

Many thanks!

Just bumping for you OP. Has made me hungry though.

I have only done brisket in my slow cooker but other cuts would probably work just as well.
I just put the meat in with a (very) little bit of chopped onion, put the meat in and then add a mug full of water and a crumbled oxo cube - cook on low for 6 to 8 hours depending on size. It won't be pink but it will be amazingly tender.

Plugin slow cooker
take off lid
put beef in the sc
replace lid
turn sc on.

That's all you needto do, you don't need a recipe

It isn’t a roast, more like pulled pork in texture. About five hours for a joint to serve 6 in our house.

Always do m6 beef in the slow cooker.
I literally do nothing to it.
Bung it in with a small dash of water.
High for first hour and then low.
Always tender and moist.

I just put it in on a bed of chopped onions with a beef stick pot and a slug of water. Delicious! I use the liquid and onions for making gravy before serving.

I just stick it in which some red wine, which I then use to make gravy.

Glass of red wine glass of water 2 oxo cubes 2 chopped carrots put on low heat for 8 or so hours or med heat for 4-5 hours.I use gravy granules or cornstarch to thicken the gravy.it's always turned out delicious!

I did this yesterday. 200ml beef stock, 200ml wine, 1 onion, 2 garlic, dash of Worcester sauce. Cooked on low for 5 hours I think. Was lovely, once done sieve the sauce through, add tbsp cornflour and reduce in pan to make a lovely gravy.
