We’re thinking about merging this section, what do you think?

Hi all,
We’re doing some work on making the Talk boards more useful and user-friendly for both regular and new users. After looking at some stats for the site, we think we could boost activity on the whole by merging some of the lesser used sections.

We’re proposing to fold the topics in this section into the Food and recipes area.

This should increase the number of topics in the section - and hopefully lead to more posts and responses to members.

Makes sense to me.

I seem to remember that this "Cakes & Bakes" topic was split off from either "Food-Recipes" or "Baking" a while ago because people wanted this subdivision. What it has meant though, is that either threads are run on both "Cakes & Bakes" and "Baking" or the answers to a question on one has already been covered by a thread on the other. My own view is that all food could be together....the only problem that could cause is that a thread one is watching could be three pages back before you know it.

Merging with baking makes sense but not all recipes - it’s a different set of people and posts
