Recipes to use up eating apples

I seem to have ended up with a few apples in the fruit bowl which are going past their best (soft, wrinkly, a bit bashed from going to and from school in DS's lunchbox a few times )
What can I make to use them up? I fancy something cakey/puddingy but any recipe I can find is for cooking apples.
