That I can cook quickly
I'm 35 weeks pregnant and very emotional and low
Cooking will make me feel better but also I'm low energy and don't want an enormous mess
Very confident cook so not afraid to try something unusual
Have a toddler and hungry man to feed

Steak. Quick and easy!

If I was feeling low I'd go for comfort food, like mash potato pie with bacon, spring onions, spinach and lots of cheese!

Or a stir fry, is quick and easy and can be very good for you.

Do you/toddler eat seafood? I really like a seafood pasta, something like some scallops or king prawns flashfried with some garlic, chilli and herbs, the pan de-glazed with some wine and a bit of pasta water to make a light sauce? Ready in the time it takes for the pasta to cook, you can serve with salad and perhaps some bread if you fancy double-carbing?

If the toddler doesn't eat seafood you can do their portion of pasta with some cheesey sauce, or pesto?

we got a Thai in the end I couldn't be bothered to cook!
We love seafood and eat loads of it.
Haven't ever heard of a mash potato pie but that sounds like great comfort food
The weather here is going to be incredible tomorrow so I'm feeling a bit more happy and should cook again tomorrow

Thank you for the suggestions

Our Friday night dinners the last few weeks have been:

Loaded chicken burgers www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9092/fully-loaded-cajun-chicken-burgers

Steak sandwiches - they now have sandwich steak in Lidl so actually quite a cheap meal. We make our own flavoured mayo to go have tried Cajun and garlic so far and serve with sweet potato fries.

Chicken schnitzel caeser - www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/chicken-schnitzel-caesar

We’ve much preferred these to takeaways
