So we have friends coming for dinner soon.... they are amazing cooks, I am an average recipe follower. Any suggestions for fool proof, prepare in advance dinner party recipes for this time of year? Thank you!

this is amazing op and very dinner party worthy. Half the amount of brown sugar though and I always do it with thighs rather than a whole chicken. Take the tray to the table sprinkled with parsley, it looks so nice. I serve it with steamed rice but any plainish starch will work, and a green veg.

How about smoked salmon for your starter with mixed green leaves, cucumber, lemon wedges and sourdough?

Then you could impress them with a main course of seasonal British goodies - so slow roast lamb, Jersey Royals & asparagus - all in season right not

Then for dessert you could do a raspberry pavlova - you can make the meringue base in advance (or buy one) then all you need to do at the last minute is whip the cream and top with the fruit

Get a sea bass each. They are 6 for £10 in our local foshmonger as xa guide. Get them gitted and cleaned. Stuff the cavity with lemon wedge, parsley, olives and cherry tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Wrap very tightly in foil and bake for 20mins. If you don't like the whole fish get the foshmonger to fillet for you and sandwich them together with filling. Takes about 15mins cooking. Whole fisj is best looks good too. Serve woth potatoes cut in 1 inch cubes, skin on, rubbed in olive oil rosemary and chopped garlic. Roadt til cookef. You can take them out before You want them and put them in for10mins as the fish is in.serve with green beans and asparagus.
