Please help, I'm in a pasta rut....

I alternate veg sauce with orzo and bacon, or spaghetti and meatballs, and a nice creme fraiche, prawn and tagliatelle dish. That's it, my repertoire of pasta ends there.

Please hit me with your go to, mid week pasta dishes. Eternal gratitude in advance Flowers

Chopped bacon, sliced tomatoes, chopped cherry tomatoes. Fry together until bacon is cooked and tomatoes go soft. Add some fresh basil if you have it. Stir through some pesto and maybe a bit of the pasta water to loosen it. Mix the cooked pasta in.

This is one of our comfort food recipes Smile

Sliced mushrooms, not tomatoes.

mrsawhite · 23/05/2019 20:06

Anna jones one pot tomato, lemon and kale spaghetti. It's life changing!

Our favourite, though a bit autumnal, is cooked pasta with a shit load of mushrooms cooked in garlic butter mixed through.

Pasta
Cream cheese/Philadelphia - mix in on hot pasta for a sauce
Spinach
Chicken
Broad beans
Broccoli

Use this for lunch for work as well as reheats nicely

JO’s Joolz pregnant pasta is a favourite in our house or similar with sausage and cream rather than a tomato based sauce.

Smoked salmon, fresh asparagus (or green peas) and crème fraîche
Bacon lardons, red onion and diced tomatoes
Artichoke, lemon, garlic and Parmesan
Sausage and red onion
Broccoli and green pesto

Marcella Hazan tomato sauce...

Rachel Roddy's puttanesca, plus her cavolo nero and ricotta, plus her anchovy, parsley, chilli (in her words like a romp in the grassy sand dunes with a fisherman!)

Homemade and pounded rather than blended pesto is always a winner

My most latest favourite -pasta and walnut sauce - so lush!

This is a nice alternative to bolognese if you've got mince:

Kind of like a non-tomatoey bol.

Dried mushrooms in their soaking liquid - fresh mushrooms - onions - garlic - slosh of wine if you have it or a bit of stock - creme fraiche and cooked pasta stirred through - bit of parmesan on the top.
