if your abroad its very common for them to put salt in there baby foods as a presevative and plus in the hot countrys babys lose salt more than we would hth

Hi Hausfrau, in CH we are rceommended to use a particular type of salt because it contains fluoride - in moderation though. Cereals even for weaning babies often contain sugar and chocolate or Ovamaltine too.

Oh, and it is difficult to find any savoury jars which don't contain meat - veal and beef are most common.

On holiday at the age of 9months Ds much preferred French jars to English ones - I think he might have inherited my love of salt.
