Welcoming meal after night flight?

I have friends arriving after a shortish flight but long drive... want to make nice dinner for their arrival.
They get here 10/11pm.

What’s nice?

Soup? Pasta? What would you like in that situation?

LesLavandes I don’t use a recipe but as long as it has a fuckton of bacon, cheese and sour cream, it’s good. Something like this;www.allrecipes.com/recipe/12997/baked-potato-soup-i/
I don’t peel the baked potatoes though because I think they give an even better flavour. Enjoy your effortless eating! I would seriously eat everything in soup form.

How about some kind of tapas? Cous cous with roasted veg, olives, breads with oil and balsamic, maybe a potato salad. Something they can help themselves too and decide on their own portion sizes. Depending on your budget you can get some lovely bits from Lidl/Aldi all the way up to M&S/Waitrose. Not forgetting the wine of course. Also if they decide that actually they don't want it, it can be kept for light supper during their stay x do let us know what you go with Smile
