Simple but delicious starter?

I'm taking a starter round to a friends dinner party....I never eat/prepare starters so have no idea what to make.
I need something fairly simple to transport, no onions or garlic as I'm allergic, must be delicious and fairly 'foodie' as the bar will be set high by the other contributors (I have no idea what the rest of the meal might be)
Anyone got any ideas? (Only needs to serve 4)

You need to find out what is for main first as you don't want to duplicate key ingredients.

Breaded mushrooms? You won't need garlic if you use other herbs.
Or pate, melba toast, salad, pickle. Just assemble it when there.

Avocado, strawberries, posh salad leaves, balsamic dressing. Feta too if you like, and chunks of sourdough or other poncey bread. Simple to assemble, but truly delicious and really suitable for warmer weather.

Asparagus wrapped in Parma ham

Baked camembert and bread/crudités

Bruschetta with various toppings

Smoked salmon mousse wrapped in smoked salmon. Really easy and looks impressive and will travel well in ramekins-just line with clingfilm so it’s east to turn out to serve

Smoked salmon, some salad leaves, brown bread. Buy salmon that's been smoked with something interesting, heather, oak chips, etc.

Or blinis, sour cream, and lump fish or salmon caviare, assemble when you get there. Four blinis per person would be a serving.

Crab. Always a winner. Nice simple crab in ramekins with homemade rustic bread. Garnish simply with a devilled mayonnaise and lime. Homemade mayonnaise best but otherwise mix with Tabasco with a little cayenne.

Lovely ideas, I am tempted to plan on just eating starters from now on!
Any other ideas.....keep them coming!

Can reheat at the venue

Sub out the onion and garlic for more herbs and, or, lemon juice, it won't hurt. The fritters can also include some sweetcorn if that suits.

Good mozzarella, plum tomatoes, basil and olive oil. When I eat it, I just think how genius of whoever first put them together! Served with crusty bread and oils if you fancy

Marks and Spencer online recipes, the hallouumi, strawberry, avocado and pomegranate salad. Is sensational! Main size portions which you could easily half, is a surprisingly filling main. Recommend sainsburys or marksies halloumi!

Diamond Jubilee Chicken is lovely and light and summery.

I just roasted a few breasts for it last time because I was only doing it for six.

Serve with crusty bread, and I had pomegranate molasses to drizzle over it.

Salmon Tortillas
Spread cream cheese on a tortilla, sprinkle finely cut chives, cover with smoked salmon slices, roll the tortilla and cut obliquely every two inches.

Smoked mackerel pate with rye bread and pickles
