Can i put the chicken in the same dish that has the the sunday roast topside beef in it? The beef is on top of mushrooms and sliced onions.
The beef is on a slow roast at 140 degrees for the next three hours.
The chicken has a lemon in in - I could remove that and replace with an onion? Btw I'm not doing two roasts for me, the chicken is for an unwell friend in church who can't cook.

I wouldn’t, but don’t really know why I wouldn’t! Have you got a friendly neighbour who would let you bung the chicken in their oven?

Any help appreciated. Also I could put chicken on the bottom of oven, but there is no shelf only a metal sheet across the base of the oven which stops any drips falling on the bottom of oven.

I'm not good with ovens. Maybe I should not have that sheet.

Thanks Watto, no that won't work.

Will the juices of the chicken wreck the gravy for the beef.

I don't think the chicken juice would ruin the beef gravy. It's like using chicken stock. I'd take out the lemon though. Do you have anything you could sit the chicken on? Or make it's own tray for it from baking paper or tinfoil sitting in the bigger tray?

Thanks Apile great idea , I turned the grill pan wire mesh upside down and have put that on the sheet to create a little airflow about 2 cm underneath the chicken dish. I hope thats ok for a fan oven.

I'm a bit late to this but I would put the chicken in a slow cooker.

I was actually thinking of the grill afterwards. Great. Hope it's all tasty.
