I tasted this last year and would like to make my own this year.

Has anyone made it and would you like to share your recipe (and tips) with this novice?

Have you got the pot to make it in? My parents do so we had a go. Just filled it slowly with berries all summer and kept topping it up with booze. By September it'd turned into... sludgy booze-flavour berries.

We were underwhelmed!

Oh no! We were given a bottle of the liquor and it was so amazing. No fruit in it so I presume the maker scoffed that part themselves. Did you eat/drink it all Molly and did it seem like a lot of work?

My Gran used to make it, mainly seemed to be pure rum (though that may have been just her) with slightly dubious fruit - tinned strawberries as I remember seemed to be added. Basically pure alcohol though!

It wasn't hard work at all - you just sling fruit and booze in when you remember.

We didn't eat it all though.

Have you got the rumtopf pot?
