Dinner tonight

For the first time since Christmas all my DCs are home tonight.

I'd love something nice to cook for them all, something a bit special but not overly complicated.

No dietary requirements except for lots of it (rugby teens)

Anyone got any lovely ideas? I've been living off jacket potatoes for one for too long and have lost my thinking cap.

What do they like to eat?

Chilli? Curry? Pasta?

PineapplePatty · 13/04/2019 12:02

They eat most things, I'm thinking a meaty dish with nice sides

Not curry or chilli as they eat that a lot at uni.

What about a roast (unless you're planning one tomorrow)?

Or roast duck legs in red wine and redcurrant sauce with Potatoes Dauphinoise?

Steak and big fat chips with pepper sauce.

I'm having m&s croquet, carrots and leeks with gammon and pineapple.

These all sound good to me.

I'm going shopping in a minute so I might get them all for the coming week!

This fillet of beef with horseradish butter is fab, says to do on bbq but can be done in oven. Serve with sweet potato chips and green salad.

I think this looks delicious.

A nice Mexican themed ‘help yourself’ in the middle of the table - steak fajita mix, chicken fajita mix, wraps, big bowl of tortilla chips heated in oven, bowl of cheese, jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole big bowl spicy rice (microwave stuff yum), mini corn on cobs for everyone - yum! You could also get some jalapeño poppers/mozzarella sticks etc.

I was going to suggest steak and chips too (that’s what we’re having!)
