What is the most cinnamon tasting thing I can buy?

I love cinnamon (sweet cinnamon) but I can't find any cakes/pastries/cookies that are cinnamon enough. You know the filling in a cinnamon swirl? I want the whole thing to taste like that x 10.

In this age of salted caramel and red velvet and hibiscus drizzle, has anyone found a product that made them say "No. That is too much cinnamon."? If so, please advise so I can purchase it.

Or maybe an inch thick layer on a pancake. Mmmmm.

There's cinnamon sweets that you can get, I'll try to find them. They are red and chewy. There's also cinnamon lozenges, I loved them, not sure if they are still around?

YesQueen · 12/04/2019 22:49

Oh here are my people Grin I'm craving cinnamon toast now with crunchy sugar

slowdownplease · 12/04/2019 22:50

Cinnamon sweets are usually in a pick and mix sweet shops, the old style ones with the sweets all in jars.

Any of these sweets in the picture here will have a nice hit of cinnamon for you.

Now you've made me want some!Grin

Dentyne Cinnamon Gum

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 12/04/2019 22:54

How have I never heard of those sweets? They must be lurking in the Grandparent section, with the aniseed balls and cough nae mores. I will definitely try them.

Grinthe grandparent section!! The atomic ones were the ones the "cool" kids got from the tuck shop at my high school about 15 years ago-they are indeed very hot!

The lozenges and chewy sweets I remember getting from the local sweetie shop. The chewy ones were in wee bags on the counter so must have been fairly popular. I haven't seen the lozenges for ages. Maybe Amazon might have them?

slowdownplease · 12/04/2019 22:58

Should add those sweets were available in N. Ireland about 15 years ago. But I've got the chewy ones in Scotland since.

The Nordic Bakery or Ole & Steen (sp?) in central London?

Alabasterangel6 · 12/04/2019 23:01

Yep ^ to the big red gum. It’s a cinnamon explosion.

BaronessBomburst · 12/04/2019 23:01

Move to the Netherlands. Everything here is cinnamon flavoured. I'm sick of the bloody stuff! Grin
Cinnamon jelly beans are particularly evil.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 12/04/2019 23:20

Cinnamon cereal, they make them in pillows now too with a cinnamon filling. Ikea has fresh and frozen rolls. Haven't tried the frozen, but the fresh ones are delicious and very cinnamony....and not a dried up(raisin) in sight.

BeagleMomma · 12/04/2019 23:27

Cinnamon jelly beans from Jelly Belly are amazing!

I like the curiously cinnamon cereal too!

AntheaTrifid · 12/04/2019 23:43

The word cinnamon has lost all meaning after reading this thread

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 13/04/2019 00:01

@AntheaTrifid

It’s called semantic satiation.
I once wrote an essay on the phenomenon and guess what... shit got meta.

choccybiscuit · 13/04/2019 00:07

Pumpkin pie?
Cinnamon sugared pretzels

greenlynx · 13/04/2019 00:10

I love cinnamon too!!! I put a lot of ground cinnamon on my porridge and also add it to stewed apple - great with Total yogurt and with porridge.

BornInAThunderstorm · 13/04/2019 00:13

The problem is that most cinnamon products are made with an inferior form of cinnamon (cassia). You may find if you buy some ceylon cinnamon and use that in baking, the taste is better

bomanaise · 13/04/2019 00:23

I think we can surmise from this thread that cinnamon is both brilliant and highly addictive. Sometimes I just shake it directly into my mouth. I can't get enough of the stuff!!

YesQueen · 13/04/2019 00:31

I love hot milk with a dash of cinnamon syrup and cinnamon on top

When we lived down south, there was this little milkshake stall thing, something I remember really clearly as a kid. He had a spinning thing of cards which had your loyalty stamps on. I used to get a cinnamon milkshake topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. Can almost taste it just thinking about it, might have to ask my dad if he remembers where it was!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 13/04/2019 00:40

Fireball whisky doesn't taste of whisky. Just cinnamon. It's perfect as a hot toddy when you're ill- a generous slosh of fireball, with hot lemonade (and lemsip).

ImHastingsDarling · 13/04/2019 00:46

Red aftershock!

I have cinnamon mint Marvis toothpaste, it's not strong cinnamonny but it's a nice delicate hit in the morning if you're a cinnamon fiend.

You can buy those jus roll ready to roll and bake cinnamon swirls and add your own cinnamon into it?

Side note . I'm really happy I now know the phrase 'semantic satiation'

Knackeredmommy · 13/04/2019 00:58

My Tesco's sells big red gum, love it! It's in the US world foods section

RustyBear · 13/04/2019 01:00

If Florida is too far, how about Copenhagen?
Someone on here recommended Sankt Peder's bakery for cinnamon buns and they were right, they were gorgeous.
I forgot to take a photo until I'd had a bite, but this is about two-thirds of the one I had, and they apologised because it was Monday and they only have 'the big ones' on Wednesdays.
I've been looking for something similar ever since, so thanks for the recommendation for Gail's bakery - they've just opened in Wokingham, so I will have a look tomorrow. (today, actually)
