Put some more Birds custard powder in until it thickens

I last made some Birds custard for a trifle and it seemed to take a looong time to thicken, so maybe you need to cook it for a little longer. I do like Birds best !

Are you sure you read the instructions properly? Did you use the correct size spoon - a tablespoon not dessert spoon?

Or do you mean you used a packet?

You could thicken it with cornflower maybe or start again

I def did it right - I have measuring spoons

I did it in the microwave - just for speed. Hmm

Will leave it to stand and if it doesn't thicken up I'll bung it in a pan with more powder I think

If it's the instant 'just add boiling water and stir' stuff, you can put it in a saucepan and gently simmer until it thickens.

I've never made it in the microwave - I always make it in the pot. Doesn't take long at all

MaryAnnSingleton · 13/07/2007 16:18

think it's better on a hob,stirring constantly

MamaGryffindor · 13/07/2007 16:19

ohhh I just tasted it - pure school dinners yum ! Sooo nice

I'm going to have some too (with bananas)

Think I will bung it in the pan though
