Savoy cabbage

I have a Savoy cabbage left in the veg box. Googling hasn’t inspired me -does anyone have any clever ideas? The veg box has been great for upping our consumption and trying new things but I’m all out of ideas now for this.
Last time I bought one it was when breastfeeding (more than a decade ago!)

I love it shredded into a veg soup with a bit of Parmesan

Steamed with butter and pepper as a side.

As part of winter coleslaw.

Shred into stir fry.

Steam and then toss in a frying pan with garlic and chilli and olive oil as a side. Add some cubed bacon.

We had this for dinner last night, I use thyme in the sausage balls and I do alter the sauce to our tastes. It's very yummy.

Shred, steam and have with butter, vinegar and black pepper
Cut into wedges, drizzle with oil and roast
Make a minestrone

I used cabbage when breast feeding as all Grin it really worked!

Jamie Oliver's Farfalle with Savoy Cabbage, Pancetta and Mozzarella is delicious.

@Meretricious I made the braised cabbage from that guardian article last night. It was delicious! And easy.

HiHoS · 10/04/2019 08:18

I wash and shred the leaves and then just cook in a saucepan with salt, pepper and a big knob of butter. It braises in the buttery juices and is delicious. Even the DCs like it

Cut a leek in half and then slice thin half moon shape slices. Shred and wash the cabbage. Melt a knob of butter in a lidded frying pan. Add the shredded leek and cabbage together and stir fry quite gently (you don't want to burn the butter). Put the lid on and let it steam for a couple of minutes. Just before serving season with salt, black pepper, grated nutmeg and stir through a small amount of double cream - just a tablespoon or so. Lovely with roast pork or any pork dish.

We’ve been eating it in Korean pancakes - shred cabbage, grate carrot, finely slice a leek, 100g flour, 2 eggs, 150ml stock & Korean spicy paste mix together then fry.

My MiL gave me a Portuguese recipe. Fry 2 rashers of bacon and when brown add shredded cabbage, half a tin of tomatoes and half a teaspoon of piri piri powder, cover and cook for 15 minutes

We tend to cook it in chicken stock and bacon or as bubble and squeak, but I'm only really replying to bookmark the fab ideas above.
