Peanut butter BBE Jan 2017 - eat or bin?

I've been clearing out one of my kitchen cupboards and found an almost full jar of Meridian peanut butter. It had totally separated but I've managed to get everything out and blast it through the blender.

I don't eat peanut butter, so i can't tell if it's now an ok flavour or texture. I was planning to add it to DD smoothies for extra protein (she's 11).

WDYT? Ok to eat or should i chuck?

If it's not mouldy I'd eat it. Meridian always seperates even when in date.

Eat

scaredofthecity · 06/04/2019 18:48

I'd chuck, nuts go rancid and two years out of date on an opened jar is not a chance of be taking!

QuestionableMouse · 06/04/2019 18:48

I'd bin. It's coming up two years out of date and peanut butter goes rancid quickly imo.

QuestionableMouse · 06/04/2019 18:50

Just realised it's been opened. You can't eat it and you can't feed it to anyone. They'll have the shits for days.

Bringbackthestripes · 06/04/2019 18:51

Eeeew. You want to feed it to DD? 2 years out of date-NO! Just bin it Shock

I’m a complete minger with food and I’d not eat that

Nowthenforever2019 · 06/04/2019 19:10

I'd still probably eat it 🤣

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 06/04/2019 19:10

Absolutely no. Peanut butter isn't expensive enough to risk. Just bin it.

HeronLanyon · 06/04/2019 19:10

Bin it, wash that blender extremely well.

TheNumberfaker · 06/04/2019 20:05

Jan 2019, eat it up. Jan 2017 throw it in the bin!
