Does anyone have a copy of the new bero cook book? Mine (1960s version) was accidentally given to a charity shop by DH Angry. It belonged to my nana friend who I used to bake with as a child I’m livid lol

Does the new one have the recipes for the following

Coffee kisses
Melting moments
Walnut cake

These are a must, everything else is a bonus Grin

Thank you

Ooh! Does it have cornflake flapjacks?

Guiltyworkingmumoftwo · 02/04/2019 20:34

Yes to the three in OPs post not sure about the flapjack though Smile

Bluelonerose · 02/04/2019 20:37

Op I'm pretty sure my dm has this book.
Can screenshot recipes for you.
Will double check it's same one next time I'm over if that helps?

Sad thought this was an actual new bero book!! I have total dibs on my mum’s collection.

Magmatic80 · 02/04/2019 20:38

I’ve got it but it’s got fake cooking splashes on it, and shiny paper. It’s not proper Sad

Vintagewannabe · 02/04/2019 21:37

Thank you! I can’t belive it’s gone. I suspected the new ones wouldn’t be as good they never are. I’m glad my faves are still innit though Grin

I love the new one! Just like I remember my mum's battered one, but with metric measurements added!

Owlish · 02/04/2019 21:48

I've never had, or even seen, the book, but Bero have a website with recipes: www.be-ro.co.uk/ They used to be web pages but I've just checked and the recipes can be downloaded as a PDF.

Vintagewannabe · 02/04/2019 22:10

Website isn’t the same lol. The magic is in the book. The coffee kisses won’t taste the same Grin

I think the melting moments recipe is slightly different now - will have to check mine.

ExpletiveDelighted · 02/04/2019 22:14

I buy myself a new one every 10 years or so but always keep the old ones.

Vintagewannabe · 03/04/2019 07:44

Thanks everyone I’ve purchased a new one.

You might be able to get old editions second hand on eBay or Amazon. My DH let an onion rot on my old one and although I was able to salvage most pages through skills learned as a result of a library flood I made him buy me a new copy of the same edition.

enjoyingscience · 03/04/2019 07:53

Do you want pictures? I’ve got a 60s one. It’s my absolute favourite.

Owlish · 03/04/2019 09:47

Vintage Grin

Vintagewannabe · 03/04/2019 09:56

Thanks @enjoyingscience but I’ve managed to find old ones online for now.

Il give the new modern one a go but I suspect I will spend £10 on a vintage one in the future. I might get DH to replace it. The old pages in the 60s one bring back lovely memories of childhood baking even though it was out about 20 years before I was born, even an 80s one wouldn’t have the same effect because it’s not the same lol
