Baking experts i need your help please.

I need advice please, I want to bake my little girls first birthday cake this year. I would like it in the shape of a one but I’ve literally no idea where to start?? So I’ve got some questions if someone could answer I would be really grateful.
Do I buy a cake mould in the shape of ‘1’ or do I just use certain cake tins?
How much ‘cake mix’ do I need to make? If I want the cake to be made for 20ish people.
Can you put buttercream & jam in a numbered cake?
How long do I bake it for?
What icing do I use?

Sorry if I sound stupid!! I’ve made cupcakes & cookies in the past but never a big cake before so I’m nervous, worried also as don’t want it to turn out a disaster.

Disclaimer: I am not Mary Berry!!! You can hire number tins. You will need to follow a recipe and if it is for 20 double the quantities of an 8” sandwich cake. When cooked you can slice it in half and fill with jam and buttercream. Coat the sponge in melted jam before you put the fondant icing over the top.

If you google ‘hack for number one cake giraffe’ a good set of videos show how to create a 1. I personally feel fondant icing will be tricky. Buttercream with a fancy nozzle. Good luck

1's don't need a special tin. Use a square... cut the resulting cake into 3 slices....arrange into a 1 shape by using one of the slices as a base ( trim it a bit because it is a bit long) do a 45 degree cut on the left hand side of top section and then rearrange the remaining bits into the stalk. If you have lots of people coming make it taller.

Cover the cake in plenty of icing, lots of sweets and make sure you cut it just before people leave.
