No cook recipe for beaver scouts

Taytotots · 14/03/2019 00:29

Looking for a preferably no cook recipe that can be made in an hour long beaver scout session (5-7year old kids). Preferably one that will take a bit of time and get each child helping. I was thinking maybe snack balls (lots of mixing and rolling) but open to suggestions. We do have an oven if you have quick cook ideas but I thought no cook might be better as not sure they would cool quickly enough to eat/take home.

Rice krispie cakes? Actually shredded wheat nests might be better as coming into spring/easter?

Marshmallow top hats if you can melt chocolate. Drop of melted chocolate in a petit four case. Squidge on marshmallow. Spot of chocolate to stick on smartie?

We got ours to make fruit smoothies, fruit kebabs and salad bowls (tinned mixed bean salad and sweet corn, lots of salad veg, cubes of cheese and ham - let them help prep and make their own bowls up) and sub roll pizzas (large submarine rolls halved, spread on tomato and basil passata, top with cheese, spinach and mushrooms) the other day. Three bases 20 mins a base. Bonus is they all try something they've avoided before and goes towards their personal challenge badge too.

Thanks everyone! Pantah was that all in one meeting?! Shock. Sounds great though. Ihatesandwiches are you from NI? I'm familiar with tophats from parties there but hadn't thought of them for this. RiceKrispie loads of ideas - thanks for all the links. Opies great idea for an Easter themed meeting. We're going to have to cook for the rest of the year to get through these Grin.

Yes Tayto, all in one night, we are lacking in leaders but had lots of parent help that evening. Smile

Rocky road? Plenty of chopping and breaking up things to start with, my kids favourite part

Taytotots · 21/03/2019 09:47

Impressive pantah! We used to make those in brownies petal. Grey that's a good idea too. We made these oat ball things in the end, worked well (fortunately no nut allergies) www.wellplated.com/energy-balls/.
