Hi everyone. Please can you help me. I'm after easy to make pasta recipes. We don't like tomato based sauces. We like cheese, creamy sauces. Want something relatively simple that can make through the week. My cookbooks are either ones I don't like or too fussy. Please help. Thanks 🙏 in advance ☺️

One of my midweek favourites is pasta with a bit of lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, capers or olives, with grated Parmesan.
I’ll also add anything that might need using up like mushrooms.

Thanks for those. Unfortunately I can't have acidic things like the lemon juice, also tomatoes are a no go. Don't like olives or anything like that. It looks yummy though the fettuccine recipe. Honestly I'm not fussy, just because of bladder and bowel conditions I have to stay away from the trigger foods. Very grateful for you taking the time to reply ☺️.

Olive oil, garlic, Grated courgette, lemon juice, chilli and prawns.

Broccoli in with the last 3 minutes of pasta, stir in cream cheese with garlic and herbs

This is absolutely delicious. I do it without th sausage and add in broccoli or green beans sometimes.

Disney2 · 08/03/2019 07:53

Oh and for chicken broth I just use a chicken stock cube

greenelephantscarf · 08/03/2019 07:57

you can use courgette instead of tomato. so where a recipe says to use passata, replace it with grated courgette.

a good carbonara?
1 egg, 1 tbs cream, some grated hard cheese, herbs & garlic per person. whisk and pour over just cooked pasta and serve immediately.

Crime fraiche and cream with gruyere, Parmesan and pepper - add prosciutto and asparagus

PrismGuile · 08/03/2019 07:58

Or google Mornay sauce

Could you perhaps provide us with a list of food you need to avoid? That would be helpful.

Charley50 · 08/03/2019 08:00

Creamy brocolli pasta with garlic and onion. Cook the broccoli with the pasta so it's over cooked. Sauce part cream part cooking water so it's not to thick. Stir in smoked salmon or tuna if you like x yum!

Aethelthryth · 08/03/2019 08:03

If you like onions and have time, for two

Chop a couple of onions and cook them very gently in a generous amount of butter until they are very very soft and just golden. Cook pasta, drain and while very hot mix with the onions, two beaten eggs, about 100g grated parmesan and a generous amount of salt and pepper. If you have some parsley, a small handful stirred through brightens it up

Thanks everyone. Some of those sound lovely. The foods I have to avoid are spicy, acidic, garlic (although I do add some garlic granules),tomato, onion, mushrooms (I love them but they don't love me),high fat. It's a nightmare 🤦‍♀️

Mild chorizo, broccoli and green pesto?

mummymayhem18 · 08/03/2019 09:57

Mmm twistable sounds nice. I already do a pasta with chicken and pesto. I cheat though and use the little pots of pesto 😙

Hmmm. Difficult. How about this Sicilian broccoli pasta? It’s delicious. I’ve seen it made with saffron too which is even better. You could leave out the onion.

And you could do a creamy pancetta pasta with a low fat yoghurt perhaps, if you can’t have full fat?

SparkiePolastri · 08/03/2019 10:05

Nigella's pancetta, peas and orzo is so simple and yummy.

I often replace pancetta with chopped streaky bacon.

red pepper is a good substitute for onion and garlic.
