Going to see Jules Holland & others on Friday with my husband (& 5mth old dd but she's not eating yet) and would like some nice ideas. Was thinking of a sausagemeat plait but what else?

spanish omelette - is wonderful cold and so much nicer than sandwiches. Take french bread and butter. It is wonderful.

Lucky you babycat - you should have a fab evening

We went to an open air Van Morrison concert (rude man ) last year and just raided the shelves in M&S...

Greek meze platter
Hot Smoked Salmon
Salads
Olives
Dips

Yum!

Cold sausages/salamis

tomatoes

Thanks BBBee. Never had cold omelette but sounds good. Spanish omelette has potatoes in doesn't it? Assume you cook potatoes first?

yes you cook the potaotes first. I usually plan to do it the day after a meal with new potatoes and do a few extra. It is more like a light version of a quiche than anything else. Great with a dash of tabasco ( but most things are!)

aubergine involtini
tomato,mozzerella,avocado & basil salad
peperonata
spiced chickpea salad
spanish potato salad
stuffed rissoto balls
pesto,feta & roasted veg sandwiches
goats cheese & red onion tart
chicken salad with pine nuts
mini summer puddings
cheeses

Thanks all .

What's aubergine involtini and peperonata, Lullabyloo, I'm intrigued?

Think I'll do the Spanish omelette as it's quite quick & simple with some salad, olives and chorizo.
