What can I use instead of lemon for this dish? I have an orange - good or very bad idea?? Thanks.

Orange wouldn't be right at all. You need something acidic. Half a teaspoon of vinegar might work, but really, I'd just get the lemon juice.

I'd use a small amount of mirrin or rice wine vinegar for a little acidity. Not orange.

Thanks very much. I opted to leave it out in the end and it was fine. Might try balsamic vinegar another time.

Vinegar would be a good idea here. In Indian curries with chickpeas a pinch if dried mango can be used :)
