Dairy-free topping for carrot cake

I've just baked a gluten and dairy-free carrot cake and need a topping - I could do plain buttercream made with vitality, or normal icing. I wondered if anyone has a recipe for a cream cheese type topping that's dairy-free?

I would just do standard old fashioned icing - icing sugar and water. Mix some lemon juice in if you have some to hand. I don't like that cream cheese or buttercream topping - ruins a good carrot cake IMO :)

I’d do a hybrid of water and Vitalite and chuck some orange in too.

I'd use a vegan butter-alternative spread to make a butter icing with a splash of lemon, orange zest, maybe a pinch of cinnamon and some ground walnuts to give it texture.

If you’re wanting quick and easy, Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Style Frosting (and most of the other flavours!) is dairy free I have a multi-allergy child and use these a lot!

I’m 99.9% sure it is yes - hang on and I’ll have a quick google for the ingredients. It is definitely dairy free though! My kid is anaphylactic to cows milk, and he’s fine with it

From what I can tell, yes it’s gluten free too
The only allergen info is that it’s a “may contain” for milk products, but that’s just because of the other things made in the factory. If we avoided everything “may contain” labels, my son wouldn’t be able to eat anything
