Cinnamon rolls- what’s a good filling?

I’m happy with the dough recipe I use but it calls for puréed apple as part of the filling and my dc object! How do you make a nice gooey filling?

Custard and raisins? Pureed pear and strawberry/raspberry? Would dc like the apple if mixed wihh blueberry?

Just use the apple - the cinnamon and brown sugar overpower any apple taste, it's just a moist vector for the good stuff.

The proper American ones are just loads of butter, brown sugar and cinnamon...not very healthy though.

Unfortunately I can’t Tawdry as dc can taste the apple, and any other fruit.
I’m looking for a more neutral flavour.

Butter! Cream the cinnamon and sugar into butter and spread it. Wildly unhealthy, but won’t harm the dc as an occasional treat.

Cinnamon and brown sugar. Spread melted butter on your dough, sprinkle the mixture on top, roll over it with a rolling pint to compact it a bit.

Just make this, it's WAY less hassle than cinnamon buns and it even more delicious if that is possible

Ideally you do need a VERY large round tray (11/12 inch) to make it, but I have halved it and put it in an 8inch tin to no ill effect.

Ok so I think I’ll just go with lots of marg (no butter as another dc is vegan. Not the fruit avoider fortunately).
MsM - not sure I agree that your recipe is less hassle as I only do 2 steps with cinnamon rolls and that’s more! But thank you anyway
