Slow cooker whole chicken

I tried a slow cooker whole chicken today. 5 hours on low, on a trivet.... it's nowm8 hours and still not cooked. Have cranked up to high. Any tips?

Are you sure it's not cooked after 8 hours? It won't crisp up like an oven-roasted chicken.

By not cooked you mean still pink inside? The texture of chicken this way isn’t quite the same as usual roast chicken in my experience

It should be cooked, it might not look what you are expecting though if you ate used to oven roast chicken?

Internal temp was still v low. Its cooked now. Came out well eventually. My slow cooker has always seemed particularly low temp so I think i will go with 5 hours on high next time.
