Sorry in advance if posted in wrong place.
Any recommendations gor a decent slow cooker big enough for evening meal for four adults and two children?
My last one has packed up, stupidly cannot remember brand as its already been disposed of. I always felt it cooked too quickly?!
I wabt to be able to put something on about 8am and it be ready for 5pm.

Any ideas welcome (and recipes) . No fussy eaters.
TIA

I have a crock pot & it's good because I can brown stuff in the pot on the cooker. However, if it broke I think I would get an instant pot to replace it.

Furry, the slow cooker function on the Instant Pot is not the greatest. There are three settings but only the hottest one produces even the slightest simmer. Maybe it is just too deep to work well. Get an Instant Pot by all means, it's a brilliant pressure cooker, but keep your slow cooker.

Thank you GrannyHaddock, worth knowing amongst all the hype!

I have a basic 6l Cookworks one from Argos which is huge and has been working well for years. No real functions other than a couple of temp settings though

IMO the best cheaper slow cookers are the ones where you can start the insert as a pan directly on the hob, for browsing, then move them to the slow cooker. The Morphy Richards one is good for that. There are two in the larger size- one with a timer and one without.

Some nice recipes from Rice which I will try, thank you 👍

I have the Morphy Richards 48718A, which was "amazon's choice". I wouldn't recommend it to be honest - I think it cooks too quickly. It was cheap though.
