Chicken pie that tastes like school dinners?

Ds keeps on asking for chicken pie like the one he has at school.
I’ve never made chicken pie! Any good recipes?

If it's made on the premises, ask the cook.

It’s brought in by a catering company I think.

Mine seem to think a can of chicken in white sauce coupled with a handful of peas and some very crumbly shortcrust pastry on top tastes just like the one at school (which they like)

Chicken cooked in condensed mushroom soup with frozen mixed veg and a puff pastry square on top.

There are a couple of books you can buy which have recipes for some of the classics - like chicken pie
You could also give this a go - you might want to scale it down though!

@Sausagefingers9 yes thinking a can of chicken in white sauce! Soo good! I sometimes top up with left over roast chicken but dont need to. I also add mushrooms and red onion and leeks. Then cover with puff pastry. Yum and so easy!
