Hello, I want to have some friends over for a roast, I'm pretty good at all the trimmings but I'm vegetarian and my friends eat meat.
I'd like to cook them something which is nice but not too hands on! Does anyone know if there are any of those ready seasoned etc joints that come out particularly well? I don't want to just try something as I can't taste it and check so really hoping for a recommendation. I don't really want a recipe, just something that goes straight in the oven.

Thank you

Tesco finest lamb shanks are really nice if you don't mind not having a joint. They come two to a pack.

I'm sure they could eat a vegetarian version of a roast dinner - a nut roast or similar? Meat eaters don't have to eat meat for every meal, especially if they know they are visiting a vegetarian.

What about a slow cooked pork shoulder?

Just needs a bit of salt and pepper, cup of water and pop in a casserole with a tight fitting lid then cook for about 4 hours at 150.

It’ll just fall to bits when you take it out.

I wouldn't expect meat... just cook them all the trimmings and whatever you would normally have with it.

I would never expect a veggie to cook me a meaty roast. Wow them with a delicious veggie meal 😁

That should have been a smile not that weird scary emoji!
