American MNetters- what's for breakfast?

Silly homework assignment time. DS3 has to research what people in different continents have for breakfast, why it is eaten (?!) & what time it is eaten.

I would have thought this would differ from family to family, as well as state to state.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I LOVE eggs benedict.

It's an english muffin cut in half and toasted. Each half has a slice of canadian bacon on top of it (kind of a cross between ham and bacon), poached eggs on top of that and hollandaise sauce over the whole thing.

The egg yolk mixes with the hollandaise..mmmmm......

One of my birthday presents this year was a box of Count Chocula breakfast cereal from America and I have just finished it today. My granny used to send it over at Christmas, it's chocolate cereal with chocolate marshmallows in it and basically it's all the forbidden pleasures of my childhood in a bowl. I'm sure it's very bad for you but I still envy American children who get to eat this kind of thing EVERY DAY! I haven't thrown out the box yet so if your ds would like it for his project, I can send it to you Tallulah.
