I regularly eat Korean, Japanese and Italian also a kind of British hybrids of food so things like British-Indian cuisine but apart from that I don't really cook any other cuisines food.

What kind of world foods am I missing out on/should I try and what books/YouTube videos do you recommend for learning them! One thing that's tempting me to learn that I've never tried before is Thai food, but wondering what else I'm missing out on!

Lebanese is my favourite.

AutumnCrow · 21/01/2019 16:25

Middle Eastern food is awesome.

Lots of pulses, spices, herbs, eggs, salad vegetables, greens, root veg, cheeses, sour curds (egg yogurts) and flat breads. Plus fish, and lamb & chicken if you eat meat.

ILoveDaveGrohl · 21/01/2019 16:26

Khmer food from Cambodia. Especially the curry

Bloomcounty · 21/01/2019 17:36

Middle eastern recipes. I'm working my way through a couple of books by Sabrina Ghayour and Yottam Ottolenghi. Some of the ingredients are a little harder to get hold of here in rural Scotland, but I've always been able to get them online. So far, nothing I've made has disappointed.

RCohle · 21/01/2019 17:44

Moroccan or Mexican are both fab.

Trumponerous · 21/01/2019 17:55

Vietnamese is great, SE Asian with french influences.

PineappleandBlueCheese · 21/01/2019 19:17

Thank you all! Going to research these tonight!

Bloom County I'm in the Highlands so getting ingredients can be a pain for me too! Glad to here should be able to buy most middle Eastern ingredients online!

Also a lover of Middle Eastern cuisine here.

I'd also recommend Greek, very similar and lovely fresh flavours.

Balonder · 21/01/2019 22:24

Lebanese food is great. Peruvian food is amazing too. Food in Peru is among the best I have eaten anywhere.

I got a subscription with thespicery.com - world kitchen or something which included recipes from all over the world. Gave me some great ideas and you can buy one-off blends and spices from them. Middle Eastern is my favourite though, so long as you can get fresh herbs in big bunches.

Jozen · 22/01/2019 00:08

Lebanese and Middle Eastern dishes are my faves, closely followed by Mexican and Spanish food.

Ylvamoon · 22/01/2019 13:31

German or Swiss food. It's not at all about sausages! But does involve a lot of pasta and fantastic sauces often made with veg and meat. Or the many ways to cook potatoes... and all the lovely things that can be made into a salad!

reindeermania · 22/01/2019 18:21
