Out of date jar of curry sauce

Lurking in the cupboard I've found a jar of Sharwood Tikka sauce.
The lid doesn't "pop"
Date is August 2017! Would you use it?

Nope. I am quite flexible with expiry dates but a year and a half is pushing it even for me.

Either that or if I was desperate i would taste it and if it tastes ok go for it!

Yeah it'll be fine, I still use chinesey sauces a dollop at a time that have a use by date sometime during the Ming dynasty.

Mind you, my record for an apparently perfectly normal jar of commercial sauce is 7 years out of date, so you might not want to listen to me. It was fine though ...

I'm usually flexible with dates, but I think this one would be too much for me also

I used one last week that was 5 years out of date. Love food, hate waste

I'd use it. It's a best before date rather than use by so the flavour may not be as strong but it won't kill you.

Or the flavor could be REALLY strong!

I am such a skank, I rarely say no to a 'should I eat this?' thread. I am looking at the 13 month old beef from the freezer one and wondering why anyone would even have looked at the date!

Just open & smell it
