Instant Pot or Pro King

I'm currently toying with the idea of a pressure cooker.

Now I know there's huge MN love for the IP but I'm trying to watch my spends. I'll cough up if the general consensus is that the other one is crap.

But has anyone used the pro king one? Or used both and compare
Are they any good?

I have an instant pot. Friend has both
I think it's widely accepted, and friend agrees, that the IP is the best but the pro king is ok. She also had a tower which she said was rubbish and the pro is better than that
I would only replace my IP with the same but only at black Friday prices when, I belt, they were £80

BubonicWoman · 10/01/2019 11:08

I don't belt. I believe

Oh that's good for an IP. I should have planned in advance really as I've been hankering after one for a while.

I have the pkp and really rate it!

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 10/01/2019 11:14

i think it is the quality of the inner pot ..i have an Instant Pot and love it, the inner pot is heavy weight decent stainless steel, easy to clean, very few worries about anything sticking, deglazes like a dream and takes the heat to sautee stuff

I think the Pro king ones are lighter and often non stick/teflon, I despise teflon!

I would also replace my IP in a heartbeat with another if it died.I have got rid of my slow cooker and steamer since getting it, and I really do use it most days for something.

I asked myself the same question for about two years. I bought an Instant Pot. The PKP has a non-stick inner pot and every time that put me off. Managed to get ours for £80 on Black Friday and have used it lots since. Really happy with purchase.

The instant pot is £100 on Amazon at the moment, which is a good price. We find it so useful that we have two!

BubonicWoman · 10/01/2019 13:51

I didn't realise the PKP had a non-stick inner. That would put me off. I wouldn't buy non stick anything

I love my IP so much but am on a Facebook group for general pressure cooking and the PK Pro seems to be unreliable. Many users report problems. However, the Cookworks comes out well on there so may be worth a look
