Instant Pot Complete Recipes

Hi

I’ve had an instant pot for sometime now, but fair to say I’ve not used it to it’s full potential.

I’m trying to get more organised this year and using the IP I think could help with this if I get a number of core ‘one pot’ recipes together. DH and I work FT and I’d rather my evenings were spent with the kids supporting reading etc than cooking (yes I know you can do them together but you know what I mean)

I have tried, tonight for the first time, spaghetti with mince/sauce in the IP as a one pot meal and it’s been a fucking revalation.

Sauté + 6 mins, and done... a half decent meal on the table

I know there are a load of websites with recipes but a lot of them are American and so a bit irrelevant.

What are your go to, one pot meals in the IP.

Bonus points for meals with an obvious vegetarian option (as I am veggie - 2nd IP arriving this weekend!!!)

Watching with interest, this was supposed to revolutionize my cooking but so far I mainly use it to make stock.

If I make mince dishes they tend to stick to the bottom and burn, grrr.

Most of the recipes I have found are american and have tonnes of sugar and / or honey in! Yuck.

The Spaghetti dish I did was great...(ok, cheated with jar sauce but could use home made)

Sauté onions, garlic, then mince
Drain Fat
Add jar of sauce, then 1.5 jars of water (I used boiling so it didn’t take as long to get up,to,pressure)
Snap a load of spaghetti in half. Pop in and make sure covered by liquid (but don’t stir)
On manual for half of the max time recommended to cook spaghetti plus 1 min (my spaghetti said 8-10 mins, so I did 6)
Quick release
Looks really watery when opened
Really really good stir when done.
Job jobbed.

I’ve used mine loads since I got it in Nov. Porridge, mac cheese ( so easy and delicious) Bombay potatoes, aloo Gobi. Amazing rice. 1 cup rinsed rice and 1 cup water. Pressure cook for 6 mins then 10 mins NPR. Lovely sesame chicken which was recommended on here. I tend to google a recipe I’m looking for and try it out. Got my own little book as had too many pages open on my phone!

Sorry to hijack this thread, but has anyone upgraded from a standard electric pressure cooker to an instant pot, is it worth the upgrade.

Risotto (other rice dishes such as Nasi Goreng or Biryani)and Macaroni Cheese. Curries with rice cooked in a pot above. I did sausage and mash on Sunday - cooked the mash above the sausages/gravy. Feisty Tapas and Every Nook & cranny food blogs have some great instant pot recipes which fit your criteria.

Am trying a chicken and bacon pasta recipe this weekend

There’s a UK Instantpot Facebook page and it’s brilliant. Think it’s called ‘Instantpot UK Community’ or something along those lines. Hundreds of recipes and lots of great advice.
