Making a recipe I've made before which was perfect, but all my local supermarkets are out of whipping cream Confused

Can I thin out double cream with Milk? I suspect it will split?

I know I can't whip single cream. Stuck!

You can thin double cream with milk! I discovered this recently. I did it after whipping and realising it was way too thick, so I don't know proportions, I just did it a bit at a time.

Or thin double cream with single, that works too, around 50:50.

But you can whip double cream, I use it for trifle

Yes I really like whipped double cream gatekeeper and use it with meringues etc.

But it is heavier and it won't give the recipe the lightness I enjoyed from the first time.

Thanks for your help both Brew
