Freezing smoked salmon

I've just bought a load of top notch smoked salmon while in London, to freeze for use on NYE afternoon.

When should I defrost it? It will he needed for midday NYE

I thought it was completely fine to freeze and defrost and now I'm having a moment... is it?

I've always frozen it. I'd take out and put on fridge night before you want to use it

I freeze it and defrost overnight in the fridge.

Totally fine to freeze I do it all the time. It generally defrosts in a few hours in the fridge, overnight the night before would be best.
